Rule Base

The Lone Jack Athletic Association baseball and softball teams are playing the the Glenn W. Shippy Recreational League (the Shippy league).  Shippy uses the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules as base for both Baseball and Softball.  While the 2014 versions must be purchased, a 2011 version is available online at: http://www.softballjournal.com/hssoftballrules2011.pdf.

Custom Rules

The customs rules (rules that are implemented at different age levels to help improve the game for younger players) are captured in the Playing The Game document.

Additional Information

To help further educate parents, players, coaches and even umpires, we have put together a white paper capturing some of the common rule misunderstandings called Top Softball/Baseball Rule Myths.   Test yourself and see if you really know the rules as well as you think you do.
